We are seeking a high-performing and motivated person for our Storeroom Clerk opening in our plywood mill located in Beaumont, MS.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintaining storeroom inventory, including:
o ensures that all items leaving the storeroom are checked out.
o Receives all incoming vendor shipments, verifies items received against packing list and makes sure all packing lists are matched with a purchase order. Delivers packages to appropriate person/department that are not for the storeroom.
o Performing cycle counts. Research discrepancies and assist in inventory adjustments as needed and directed.
o conduct manual inventories of all stock as directed/scheduled to ensure inventory accuracy.
o Submits purchase requests to maintain stock items at minimum inventory levels.
o Maintain a list of all obsolete parts and place them all in a designated area of the storeroom.
o Ensure all stock items are labeled, their location on the racks/shelves is properly labeled and parts are in their correct location.
* Pulling parts as needed/directed and stage for planned maintenance work. Place returned/unused parts back into inventory as needed.
* Picking up parts/tools from local vendors when needed.
* Creating shipping document via UPD. FedEx, etc.
* Keeping the storeroom clean. This includes dusting stock on shelves, keeping aisles clear, dusting walls and purlins and removing cobwebs, ensuring empty boxes, and packaging materials are disposed of properly, keeping surrounding area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify typical mechanical parts such as valves, bearings, belts, etc. and their usage. Previous experience as a Maintenance/Supply Room Clerk or similar position in an industrial environment preferred.
* Possesses good computer skills with the ability to enter data, fix data errors, and run/read generated reports.
* Extremely detail oriented with the proven ability to follow a task to completion.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal oversight.
* Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including weekends and holidays, when necessary.
* Must have a valid driver's license with driving record that is insurable.
* Able to work in an industrial setting that requires the use of safety-toed boots, hard hat, etc.
* Position physically requires:
o Frequent standing, walking, and grasping.
o Frequent bending, squatting, and climbing.
o Frequent lifting and carrying light objects (10-40 lbs.)
o Occasional lifting and carrying heavy objects (50+ lbs.)
