About the Role:

U.S. Pipe is seeking a Storeroom Supervisor to join our team. The Storeroom Supervisor under limited supervision, this position supervises and directs the operation of the plant storeroom that involves scheduling, receipt, disbursement, reorder, and inventory management of purchased goods.

Specific Responsibilities:

* Supervise and coordinate the receipt and disbursement of purchased goods as required to support the manufacturing functions.

* Ensure adequate supply of all stocked items to ensure continued operations. 2

* Maintain sound inventory management practices to ensure the accuracy of all stores records to include storage and placement of inventory in accordance with Company requirements. Supervise stores inventory cost control through maintaining and reviewing inventory minimum and maximum levels. Conduct regular physical inventory of items in primary and secondary storage areas, as well as non-stores supplies in outside areas as required.

* Review inventory use and identify obsolete materials and supplies to be removed from active inventory in accordance with company procedures, and in collaboration with Maintenance and Production departments.

* Supervise and execute the withdrawal of all Storeroom items. Initiate parts reorder inquiries and generate purchase orders in accordance with procedures.

* Expedite orders as required to ensure on-time delivery.

* Resolve order discrepancies with suppliers and Accounting.

* Update computer data accordingly.

* Must interact with production, maintenance, and accounting personnel to ensure the orderly and efficient operation of the storeroom and interact with outside vendors regarding purchases, returns, quality, and expediting.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* To assign work to employees and establish time schedules that ensure timely completion of required work across all shifts.

* Coordinate all departmental activities and inform appropriate employees of relevant work activities of fellow employees.

* Resolve conflicts as appropriate.

* To instruct and train all employees on the specific responsibilities of their job.

* Assess their training needs and establish on-the-job training activities on the procedures and techniques to allow the employee to become proficient as quickly as possible.

* To comply with applicable provisions of Labor Agreement relative to scheduling of work, assignment of work, and equitable distribution of overtime.

* To counsel and discipline all employees with attendance, performance and conduct.

* Conduct all discipline in accordance with the company policy and provide the proper attitude and supervisory help to assist the employee in remedial procedures.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience Knowledge of general production manufacturing and inventory management practices.

* Basic business math skills: familiarity with materials and supplies used in the manufacture of ductile iron pipe Knowledge and experience with ERP systems and inventory management in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain a safe working environment for employees by enforcing safe work procedures, arranging for prompt equipment and facility repairs, maintaining effective housekeeping and complying with all internal safety practices and OSHA standards.

* Perform other miscellaneous materials management duties as required; serve as backup to department personnel as needed to meet staffing requirements during absences or vacations.
