The primary duties of the Stormwater Project Manager include working under the direction of a principal engineer on stormwater projects. Depending on the applicant's qualifications, work duties may support all our practice areas (comprehensive planning, design, permit compliance support, and research). The Stormwater Project Manager is expected to work independently as well as plan, organize, and assist other staff, including mentoring junior staff.Essential Duties and Primary ResponsibilitiesBe a self-starter and driven to solve problems.Have good writing, presentation, and speaking skills, as the position may involve presenting at public events.Lead and support a variety of stormwater research, planning, permit compliance, and/or design projects.Organize meetings and communicate effectively and proactively with internal staff, teaming partners, reviewing agencies, and clients.Develop and independently manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.Oversee project work and deliverable development, including plans/specifications/estimates; analyses and results; compliance documentation; and/or engineering reports and other written documents.Provide responsible leadership on project decisions, documentation, and direction.Manage project and staffing demands related to deliverable schedules and company workload.Mentor, delegate to, and supervise or assist with supervising junior staff.Welcome opportunities to work on diverse assignments to support our growing business.Support marketing efforts, including developing proposals, grant applications, meeting with clients, and strategizing business development.Required Qualifications8+ years of experience working on stormwater or water resources engineering projectsBachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineeringProfessional Engineer License (PE) in Washington State or the ability to obtain a license in Washington State within six months of being hiredExperience developing and leading technical engineering research projects, design documents, written comprehensive plans or manuals, and/or permit compliance evaluationsWashington State or North Idaho resident or the ability to become a resident within one year of being hiredPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in civil or environmental engineeringExperience with Washington State Phase I and Phase II NPDES Permits, Washington State Department of Ecology stormwater design manuals, and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Design Manuals, including the Highway Runoff Manual (HRM) and Hydraulics Manual (HM)Past work responsibly managing engineering projects and/or tasksExperience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS/QGIS, StormShed, SWMM, MGSFlood, and WWHMAbility to work on a team and independently in a remote setting on multiple projectsStrong technical writing and verbal communication skillsPositive attitude and passion for stormwater managementBenefits and CompensationSalary starting at $111,500Flexible Paid Holidays and time off (combined 23 days per year)Flexible and remote work scheduleMedical, Vision, and Dental InsuranceSimple IRA with company matchAdditional benefits will be discussed with successful interview applicants#J-18808-Ljbffr
