About the Role & Team
Disney Television Animation is looking for Storyboard Artists to join an Unannounced Disney Series! In this role, you will be responsible for transforming a script into a scene-by-scene visual story. From rough thumbnails through to final panels, your storyboard sequences will help bring the style and vision of the show to life.
What You Will Do
- Create storyboards: from thumbnail/rough storyboard panels through delivery of finished storyboard sequences
- Ensure that the vision and style of the show is consistently adhered to through execution of action, staging, dialogue and camera
- Pitch storyboards, address notes from Director and Creative Supervisors, and revise as necessary
- Collaborate with creative department heads and production to review goals and vision for the storyboards and discuss concerns, timelines and complexity, given the parameters of the schedule; Responsible for completing all deliverables on time and according to production schedule and within guidelines/show parameters such as number of scenes, complexity requirements, etc.
- Ensure that storyboard includes all final dialogue, backgrounds, direction, camera moves and action by making drawing or text changes in description, dialogue or numbering
- Submit work that appropriately aligns with production and workflow guidelines requirements (i.e., naming conventions and storage)
- Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contracts
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years storyboard experience and/or training on a similar show
- Knowledge of software and hardware including Cintiq, Toon Boon Storyboard Pro, and Photoshop
- Ability to align with the style and sensibility of show, including the ability to draw characters and environments on model within a particular show style
- A portfolio that demonstrates staging, composition and cinematography skills, along with strong comedy, action, emotional storytelling, and character interactions
- Ability to write clear and specific direction on storyboards
- Consistent time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior knowledge and experience working in television animation production pipelines
Education
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
The pay rate for this role in California is $61.12 to $65.49 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
