Electronics Buyer - Oakland CountySummaryEnsure that all purchased parts assigned to you will fully meet our expectations by developing a robust supply base capable of meeting cost, quality, launch, and delivery commitments.Main ResponsibilitiesKey Functions & Responsibilities of the Electronics BuyerEnsure optimal supply chain performance for electronic components.Meet stringent requirements for cost, quality, and delivery.Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFQs and technical reviews.Select and manage a robust supplier base.Negotiate favorable contracts and ensure compliance.Cultivate strong partnerships with suppliers.Address commercial issues and drive cost reduction initiatives.Monitor market trends and identify optimization opportunities.Develop and execute localization strategies to increase regional content.Establish and manage annual material budgets.Conduct regular budget analysis.Track spending and identify cost-saving measures.Required Education, Skills & Experience of the Electronics BuyerBachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive electronics industry, preferably in purchasing direct materials.Proven technical expertise in PCBs, PCBAs, electronics hardware, semiconductors, or ECUs.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to read blueprints and understand engineering documents.Strong knowledge of purchasing strategies and best practices.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong organizational and time management skills.Willingness to travel up to 15%.
