Who You Are The Strategic Merchandising Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and execution of inventory management and merchandising initiatives. Responsible for supervising $6 million in inventory, this position is crucial for driving our inventory strategy at TCGplayer, working closely with the CFO to align objectives and ensure impactful results. Key responsibilities include setting and achieving strategic targets within the Sell Your Product (SYP) and Direct Programs, taking into account historical usage and forecast volatility. - Define and set strategic inventory targets in collaboration with Sales and Operations Planning (SYP) and Direct Programs, considering historical usage, forecast volatility, and associated financial risk and liability.
- Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate the inventory impact of component shortages, demand fluctuations, and other variables affecting the Supply Plan of Record.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to ensure effective inventory management.
- Collaborate with systems engineering teams to develop an automation roadmap to support the increasing scale and complexity of inventory management processes.
- Identify and address inventory management issues, resolve operational gaps, and investigate and rectify inconsistencies.
- Plan and implement merchandising strategies to optimize product assortments animproveze sales and profitability.
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and sales data to inform product selection, pricing, and inventory management decisions.
- Develop and manage merchandising budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation to drive sales and achieve financial targets.
- Coordinate with operations to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Leadership and merchandising team, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align merchandising strategies with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with Cross Functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements for WMS Enhancements and modifications.
- Configure and maintain the Inventory Management System to meet the company's operation requirement
What You Bring to the Team - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in program or inventory management, merchandising, or a similar field, with a proven track record in strategic leadership
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze market trends, customer preferences, and sales data to make informed decisions.
- Experience with automation and systems engineering processes, including developing automation roadmaps and implementing IMS/WMS enhancements.
- Warehouse Management System (WMS): Advanced knowledge of WMS software, including configuration, enhancement, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems: Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent for seamless inventory and merchandising integration.
- Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar for analyzing market trends, sales data, and customer preferences.
- Automation Tools: Experience with automation software and tools that enhance inventory management and merchandising processes.
- Project Management Software: Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Trello to lead and track multiple initiatives.
- Collaboration Tools: Proficiency in collaboration software like Microsoft Teams, Slack, or similar to facilitate cross-functional team communication and coordination.
- Analytical Software: Experience with analytical tools and software for scenario analysis, KPI tracking, and financial risk assessment.
- E-commerce Platforms: Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and their inventory management modules to optimize online merchandising strategies.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide leadership and direction to the merchandising team.
- Proven problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying and resolving operational gaps and inconsistencies.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and software, with a strong understanding of KPIs and metrics for inventory management.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below. $75,000 - $115,000 annually Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
