GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONSafety Sensitive: This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol screening. The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain city streets and right-of-ways.ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Collects leftover and broken asphalt for transport to the landfill. This duty is performed as needed.2. Uses a concrete saw to cut asphalt. This duty is performed as needed.3. Shovels asphalt behind roller. This duty is performed as needed.4. Patches potholes. This duty is performed as needed.5. Mows and weed-eats rights-of-way areas. This duty is performed as needed.6. Cleans right-of-way areas with chainsaws and hand tools; picks up litter and debris after storms and special events. This duty is performed as needed.7. Assists with right-of-way and drainage system maintenance; performs masonry duties and clears catch basins. This duty is performed as needed.8. Places signs to reroute traffic around work sites; flags traffic. This duty is performed as needed.9. Operating a city vehicle is required for the essential functions. This duty is performed as needed.10.
