- Sufficient education to read and write; and
- Two (2) years experience in the operation of the assigned equipment.
Necessary Special Requirements:
- Possession of an appropriate driver license for equipment operated and any license, training or certification required by law or regulation to complete assigned tasks.
Nature of Work: This is skilled work in the operation of specially designed street sweeping equipment. An employee in this classification, under general supervision, is responsible for street clearing and sweeping.Examples of Work:
- Operates a specially designed street sweeper.
- May be required on a regular basis to work pre-dawn hours as scheduled.
- Performs minor servicing work of sweepers.
- May perform assignments related to street sweeping duties when needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of street locations.
- Considerable knowledge of the operation and servicing of sweeper equipment.
- Good knowledge of traffic regulations and safe driving practices.
- Skill in the care and operation of assigned equipment.
- Ability to carry out oral and/or written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
