Street Technician - CITY OF SAND SPRINGS : Job Details

Job Summary:Under direct supervision, performs manual labor to maintain and makes repairs topublic right-of ways and properties. In addition to using manual hand tools,may be required to operate some equipment and small machinery.Major Responsibilities:Constructs and/or repair streets, alleys, and sidewalks made of asphalt orconcreteConstructs and/or repairs storm sewers, catch basinsMaintains rights-of-waySprays pesticides and herbicidesTrims trees using a bucket truckRemoves brushMows and brush hogsTrims grass using a weed eaterPerforms other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments asrequired.Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge:High school graduate or GEDValid Oklahoma Class D Driver LicenseRequired to obtain a Commercial Driver's License-Class A or CommercialDriver's License-Class B within six (6) months of hire.Knowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, andpoliciesKnowledge of hazards and safety regulations relevant to the departmentKnowledge of equipment, materials, methods, and procedures used inmaintenance, construction, and repair activitiesKnowledge of city infrastructureSkill in the operation of light and heavy construction equipmentSkill in oral and written communication
