Salary : $44,090.00 - $69,284.00 Annually Location : Coral Springs, FL Job Type: Full-Time, Non Exempt Job Number: 202401536 Department: Public Works Division: Streets Opening Date: 01/06/2025 Closing Date: 1/20/2025 11:59 PM Eastern Description Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform a wide variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work in skilled trade disciplines, e.g., masonry, carpentry. Employees in this classification perform all work according to established safety standards, codes and regulations applicable to the work. Employees in this classification have previous experience in the trade, and can perform tasks independently, though work remains subject to review and inspection during and upon completion of assigned tasks. Examples of Duties
- Performs routine to moderately complex maintenance and repairs on structures, facilities, equipment, streets, sidewalks, bicycle paths and other City property in skilled trade disciplines, e.g., masonry, carpentry, asphalt.
- Assists in the construction of new sidewalks, restrooms, ADA ramps, dumpster enclosures, pavilions, playground areas, drainage systems.
- Maintains and repairs concrete valley gutters and catch basins and curbing.
- Performs general maintenance, replacement tasks and repairs to facilities, storm water and drainage systems.
- Loads, transports and distributes various materials such as gravel and sand to level and fill public grounds.
- Assists with emergency preparedness and response.
Typical Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in semi-skilled laboring or maintenance work; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must obtain a Class B Florida Commercial Drivers License within one year of hire.
- MOT Certification, preferred.
