USPRO is seeking a skilled Stress Analyst to join an engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in structural analysis and expertise with tools like ANSYS, Workbench, and APDL. This role requires proficiency in both steady-state and modal analysis, with a strong background in aerospace structures, particularly thin-walled components. Experience with gas turbines, crack propagation, and strain gauge testing will be considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural assessments for complex systems, including static and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures.
  • Conduct whole engine modeling, considering both steady-state and transient loads, and assess dynamic responses.
  • Lead or support experimental test planning, execution, and data interpretation, including correlation of simulation results to physical test data.
  • Collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines, including engineering, manufacturing, and product support, to ensure integrated solutions.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and analysis results to senior engineers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical and product reviews, including safety and life assessments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering methods and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in stress analysis, with strong expertise in ANSYS, Workbench, and APDL.
  • Experience in static and modal analysis, with a particular focus on aerospace applications, including thin-walled structures.
  • Experience with gas turbines and understanding of crack propagation analysis.
  • Proficiency in experimental testing techniques, including strain gauge placement, reading, and post-processing.
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS, Nastran, or similar software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Programming skills in Matlab, Python, or similar languages are a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in whole engine modeling, rotor dynamics, and extreme event assessments (e.g., bird strike, fan blade off).
  • Exposure to advanced structural integrity topics and simulation techniques.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex technical data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
