STRUCTURAL PROJECT ENGINEER - West Chicago

This is an engineering-track position, responsible for: leading a team in the design of buildings, including performing engineering design for components and connections, 3D finite element modeling of components, 3D modeling of structures; performing document preparation in both CAD and BIM environments; and managing project and project team to successful completion.

Qualifications Highlight

  • BS in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering, Masters preferred, or equivalent work- and industry-related experience (as allowed under licensure by the state of Illinois).
  • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in state of Illinois
  • 7 yrs diverse project experience in the design of buildings w/ demonstrated professional growth
  • Experience in precast/ prestressed concrete design a plus
  • Prefer advanced understanding of: structural analysis/design fundamentals, 3D finite element analysis, diaphragm analysis and design, structural integrity requirements, current building and material codes, commercially-available office software (Word, Excel, Adobe/Bluebeam, etc.), 3D modeling and drafting software, engineering software such as RAM suite, Risa, TEDDS, LEC Wall, etc. or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new engineering principles and stay abreast of code changes
