This is an opportunity to become a key player in a company with a dynamic backlog of projects, particularly in parking garage restoration and PIPS inspections. The role focuses on structural evaluations, repair designs, and compliance work, ensuring safety and longevity for critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and PIPS evaluations for parking structures to assess compliance, damage, and structural integrity.
  • Investigate and diagnose structural deficiencies in parking garages, preparing detailed repair designs, budgets, and construction documents.
  • Manage the design and execution of parking garage restoration projects, ensuring compliance with Local Law 126 and other relevant standards.
  • Coordinate testing, surveys, and field inspections to diagnose causes of deterioration and recommend effective solutions.
  • Balance fieldwork and office-based tasks, including client meetings, report preparation, and design work.
  • Prepare sketches, reports, and documentation using CAD and structural analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with a growing team of engineers and architects, mentoring junior staff and sharing expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on parking garage restoration and inspections.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Proven ability to independently manage restoration projects, from investigation and evaluation to repair design and execution.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft tools, project management software, CAD, and structural analysis tools.
  • Clean driver's license required for occasional site visits.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building construction processes, documentation, and maintenance, particularly in NYC.
  • OSHA and scaffold certifications are a bonus.
