We're seeking a retired or semi-retired Structural Engineer, licensed PE in NY, interested in part-time work to mentor junior structural engineers. Qualifications: A career structural engineer with expertise in repair and restoration. BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS degree is a plus). Organized, flexible, excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, providing valuable insights and fostering their professional growth.
- Structural Assessments: Conduct inspections and assessments of existing structures, offering hands-on guidance to junior team members during the process.
- Design Leadership: Lead the preparation of design calculations and contract drawings for concrete, steel, and wood structures, actively involving junior engineers to enhance their skills.
- Quality Review: Review and ensure the technical quality of structural projects, providing constructive feedback and facilitating learning opportunities for the team.
- Project Administration: Manage project and construction administration, sharing expertise with junior engineers to enhance their project management skills.
- Local Collaboration: Collaborate locally as projects require, promoting a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
