Position Summary:The Structural Section Head is a leadership role responsible for managing a team of structural engineers and overseeing the design, analysis, and execution of structural projects. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, managerial skills, and strategic planning to ensure the success of the structural section and its alignment with organizational goals.Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Assign projects, delegate tasks, and monitor team performance to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development within the team.
- Project Oversight:
- Supervise the design and analysis of structural systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Review and approve structural designs, calculations, and drawings prepared by team members.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining budget and quality standards.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the structural section's capabilities and operational efficiency.
- Identify new business opportunities, assist in proposal preparation, and contribute to client acquisition efforts.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
- Technical Excellence:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance for complex engineering challenges.
- Ensure all structural projects comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, IBC).
- Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes and methodologies.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the structural section in meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
- Address client feedback and concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction.
- Operational Management:
- Prepare and manage budgets for the structural section, including resource allocation and expense tracking.
- Oversee the procurement of materials, software, and tools required for structural projects.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
