Structures Technician II - C Shift
Location: Onsite Merritt Island, Florida 32953
Contract Type: Contract 6 months to start
Compensation: Rate $38.85 per hour
Work Schedule: C Shift - Friday to Sunday, 6 AM - 6:30 PM
Role Overview: We are seeking experienced Structures Technicians II to join our team. As a Structures Technician, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and testing structural components for our aerospace projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture, assemble, and test first and second stage structures.
- Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.
- Assist with the transition from development to production, including first articles.
- Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions through modification, rework, repair, and maintenance.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Setup and operate precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance functions and daily clean-up of work areas.
- Work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if necessary.
- Collaborate with diverse teams and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 15 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and structures.
- Solid knowledge of structures, including drilling and working with a variety of metals.
- Experience in drilling aluminum, composite, and titanium structures.
- Experience in primary or secondary structures drilling.
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written work instructions.
- Basic digital literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work in small spaces, and at heights.
- Perform repetitive work, including lifting items up to 35lbs.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Skills:
- Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field (Airframe License).
- Proven success as a hands-on technical leader.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
- Military experience.
- Experience in handling and assembling large aerospace structures.
- Experience in new product introduction and a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
