Alabama State University, Business and Finance/Student Accounts, invites applications to fill the position of Student Accounts Coordinator. This position is responsible for maintaining student's financial records.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with departments to prepare and send invoices
* Identify and prepare dunning notices on outstanding balances
* Ensure compliance with University policies and procedures
* Maintain current knowledge in areas related to primary job function through training courses, or review written material
* Assist in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating audit work documents, and financial analysis for annual external audit
* Verify discrepancies, and resolve clients' billing issues
* Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data
* Advise students, and parents of payment options and financial policies, and respond to inquiries via email, telephone and in person
* Participate in pre-collection efforts for delinquent tuition accounts
* Serve as the Veterans Affairs Liaison for billing purposes, and perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, 2 years of accounting and reporting experience, have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations, and have excellent customer service orientation and negotiation skills required.
