Reporting to the Director of Student Accounts, the Student Accounts Representative is tasked with serving as the primary point of contact for students and families for support and service regarding student account billing. This position directly contributes to the overall success of the Student Accounts Office, in compliance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate is student-focused, a strong communicator, detail-oriented, a team player, and believes in the Catholic mission of the University.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides outstanding customer service in a timely and professional manner as the primary point of contact for all students, families, staff, and third parties for support and service regarding student account billings and receivables.
  • Communicates effectively and clearly across all channels including phone, voicemail, email, in-person and any other emerging platforms as required.
  • Performs operational activities to include cashiering, data entry, updating and maintaining student account information, receiving, and processing payments, and posting various transactions.
  • Thoroughly explains and answers various questions and inquiries as they relate to student accounts such as billing, financial aid, payment deadlines, tuition rates, and 1098T forms.
  • Promotes technology initiatives to support student self-service utilizing internal online portals.
  • Collaborate with other student-facing departments to ensure a consistent and efficient billing process for students and families.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Performs general administrative office functions such as filing, copying, and managing mail.
  • Assist with billing adjustments and placing holds on student accounts.
  • Assists in collection activities to include placing collection calls and providing guidance on missing paperwork.?
  • Assist with preparing letters, reports, and various mailings.
  • Work evening hours and weekends during peak periods as necessary and in support of various enrollment initiatives.
  • Maintains accuracy and compliance with university policies as well as federal and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Responsible for the accuracy, security, and integrity of confidential data within the area.
  • Creates and maintains a secure office environment to protect all information resources.
Typical Qualifications
  • Associates degree or higher or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Ability and willingness to manage high call volume.
  • Ability to adapt well to change and be flexible.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and maintaina high level of professionalism under all circumstances.
