DescriptionThe California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is looking to hire a motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant to support our team in reconciling inventory and assisting with daily administrative tasks. This is a learning opportunity where you will gain hands-on experience working alongside IT staff on various project implementations. The Student Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II, gaining exposure to both administrative and IT-related tasks.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentThis is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Additional Work ScheduleStudent Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).Minimum Qualifications

- Experience in scripting and query languages (PowerShell, JavaScript, SQL-Structured Query Language).
- Experience with process and data flow diagramming.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in reconciling inventory records, ensuring data accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
- Provide administrative support to the unit, including filing, organizing documents, scheduling meetings, and data entry.
- Collaborate with IT staff in the implementation of technology projects, helping with documentation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and update inventory databases, ensuring all records are current and complete.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other materials related to IT projects and inventory management.
- Perform routine clerical duties as assigned, including answering phones, responding to emails, and distributing mail.
- Support IT staff with basic tasks such as setting up equipment, installing software, and performing system updates.
- Learn and apply IT tools and software while supporting project work.
