Student Mentor, Parkland Peers
Currently seeking applicants for Fall 2024 semester and beyond.
The mentor is responsible for working with mentees, up to 5, through the Parkland Peers program which is powered by Mentor Collective by connecting with current students who share a familiar course of study, interests, life experiences, or aspirations in ways that work for both in modes and frequencies that are agreeable to both parties. Mentors will be assigned mentees through Mentor Collective.
The Mentor is a part-time, student worker position, with approximately 10-15 hours per week. The Mentor appointment is on a schedule established by the employees coordinating the mentor program and the Dean of Counseling Services. The position involves regular meetings with their mentees and providing support and suggesting resources related to academics, work-life-school balance, career, personal growth, and mental health. They are not peer counselors and are not expected to provide for all of the mentee's mental health needs.
