Job Description :

The Student Recreation Center Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations, programming, and overall management of the Recreation Center at the College of Southern Idaho (CSI). This role will oversee intramural sports, manage sales for memberships and services, and collaborate with various stakeholders, including the Active Aging program, Athletics department, and other campus event organizers, to ensure the gym meets the needs of all its users. This position is an on-call position and must be willing to work occasional early mornings, late nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Intramural Sports Program:

* Develop, coordinate, and manage the intramural sports program, including scheduling, team organization, and oversight of competitions.

* Recruit, train, and supervise student referees and staff involved in intramural sports.

* Promote participation through campus-wide communications and events.

Sales and Membership Management:

* Manage sales for memberships, services, and facility rentals, ensuring clear communication and a smooth sign-up process.

* Maintain accurate records of membership, facility usage, and related sales.

* Develop and implement strategies to increase membership and enhance member retention.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

* Work closely with the Active Aging program to ensure safe and appropriate use of facilities for our elderly population

* Coordinate with the Athletics department to schedule shared use of the gym and other facilities.

* Partner with various campus organizations and external groups to plan and execute events, ensuring the Rec Center meets event needs.

* Monitor recreation needs to patrons and promote health and active lifestyles

Facility Management:

* Ensure the Recreation Center remains clean, safe, and fully operational by overseeing maintenance, equipment, and supply needs.

* Coordinate facility schedules, ensuring availability for classes, athletic programs, and special events.

* Maintain safety standards and enforce rules and regulations to provide a secure environment for all users.

* Develop and monitor risk management plans and oversee implementation of good safety practices

Staff Supervision:

* Hire, train, schedule, and supervise student workers and part-time staff.

* Provide ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities for student staff.

Budget Management:

* Assist in developing and managing the Rec Center budget.

* Track expenditures and revenues related to intramural programs, facility rentals, and other services.

* Daily deposit oversight and accountability

Marketing and Community Engagement:

* Lead efforts to promote the Recreation Center and its programs through digital marketing, social media, and campus outreach.

* Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, encouraging students, staff, and community members to participate in Rec Center offerings.

* Maintain effective and positive relationships within and outside of the facility, program and the college

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree required: Masters preferred in recreation management, sports administration, or a related field.

* Experience in recreational sports, facility management, or a similar role preferred.

* Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse campus and community groups.

* CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or willingness to obtain).
