Student Recruitment Table StaffingVOICE Charter School ( ) is an elementary and middle school located in Long Island City, Queens that serves about 650 students across grades K-8. We are located just minutes from Manhattan (twostops outside of Manhattan on the F, N, and W train lines) and Long Island City's growing waterfront district, thriving arts community, and rapid residential growth. They willrepresent VOICE and garner interest from fair attendees.Street Fair dutiesAttend select weekend street fairs as a VOICE representative.Set-up a table with VOICE information and branding.Staff the table during the duration of the fair, fielding questions from potential families and providing applications.Collect contact information from potential families to pass to the Director of Operations for follow-up communication.Communicate with the Director of Operations on the yield of the event.Engage with the street fair attendees and attract traffic to the VOICE table.Breakdown the table concluding the event.Position Qualifications:KnowledgeVOICE Values and core texts- Rationales & Application to daily proceduresVOICE arrival and dismissal proceduresVOICE application and lottery processSkillsCommunication both Written: email, procedural, anecdotal & Verbal: formal and informal feedback, public presentation, meeting leadership, expediting processes and giving instructions politelyNonverbal: reading body language of both students and adultsDocumentation / record-keepingBehavioral CharacteristicsUnwavering humility, patience, and kindnessProfessional demeanor with the ability to influence and facilitate decision-making among multiple, diverse partiesPerseverance to create clarity while allowing for complexity and nuanceOpenness to work collaboratively to solve problemsOrganized and systems drivenFastidious and attentive to detailEducational Background and Work ExperienceRequired:Current VOICE EmployeePreferred:Experience working in an urban school settingVOICE Employee for at least one year
