Student Success Coach (Academic Services)
SUNY Broome Community College is seeking its newest Student Success Coach to fill an in-person, full-time, tenure track 12 month position.
The Student Success Coach will work directly with new and first-year students. The role of the Student Success Coach is to support new students in clarifying and choosing their path during their transition to SUNY Broome and provide tools and resources to prepare them for college. This will include: Ensuring new students are in an academic program that aligns with their career goals via 1:1 or group coaching sessions and facilitating workshops for students as they acclimate to college life.
Additionally, the Student Success Coach will provide proactive, coordinated outreach during a student's first year to ensure they remain on their path to success. Student Success Coaches will connect students with campus-wide resources and support services, and empower students to develop strategies for success. This will include: Discussing goal setting; creating a plan to achieve identified goals; identifying barriers to academic success; and providing strategies for improving academic performance with ongoing encouragement and follow-up to stay on track.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and one (1) year of full-time work experience with students, customers, or clients required OR
An Associate's degree in a relevant field and three (3) years of full-time work experience with students, customers, or clients required.
Higher education experience, particularly in a community college setting is preferred. One-on-one or group coaching and/or workshop or presentation development experience preferred.
Additional Information:
The minimum annual salary for this position is $58,307.
Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
