NOTE: This position is funded through an external grant. Continued employment beyond the fiscal year is contingent upon continued funding. POSITION SUMMARY - The Academic Advisor is responsible for assisting and encouraging students to remain in post secondary school, graduate, and/or transfer to a four year institution. This position reports to the Director of Student Support Services. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide academic counseling and appropriate resource referrals. Provide academic, financial, career and personal advising, and appropriate resource referrals to low income, first generation and students with disabilities in academic programs of instruction and retention. Encourage students to complete an Associate's Degree (Academic, Vocational) or Vocational Certificate programs. Develop, monitor, and evaluate tutoring programs.
