Job Description :

The Research Foundation for State University of New York at Potsdam invites applications for a Project Staff Assistant for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS). This position is grant-funded through the US Department of Education. TRIO SSS provides support to first-generation, low-income, and disabled undergraduate students. The mission of the program is to help participants achieve and maintain good academic standing, improve persistence and graduation rates through holistic, wraparound support services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Create a welcoming and inclusive environmentMaintain confidentiality of students educational information and records according to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)Provide administrative assistanceRecruit, hire, and supervise student office staffCompile participant applications and supporting eligibility documentationMaintain calendar of events to increase student engagementManage program data and its integrity, and generate statistical reports regarding grant objectivesCompile student data to be submitted as part of the Annual Performance ReportProcess and track purchase requisitions and payment vouchersMaintain and monitor budget spreadsheets for federal, state, and foundation accountsParticipate in regular assessments of the overall operationsAssist with coordinating program activities which include evenings and weekends, as well as travelOther related duties as assigned by the director Minimum Qualification and ExperienceBachelors degree in an appropriate field and up to 2 years related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong verbal, written and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with Excel to organize, track, and analyze dataUnderstanding and appreciation for inclusion and the ability to work with diverse populations and identities Desirable Qualifications and ExperienceStrong organizational skillsProficiency with ExcelFamiliarity with educational platforms (i.e. Banner and Starfish)Familiarity with social media and virtual platforms (i.e. Instagram and Zoom/Teams) To apply: UPLOAD the SUNY RF Employment Application , a letter of application, resume, and contact information for three references to If you have any technical difficulties, email [email protected].
