Minimum Qualification [GS-4]

In order to be eligible for this student appointment at the GS-4 grade-level, you must have completed 2 (two) academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree (two years of full-time academic study is defined as 60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university) in a discipline/academic program related to the position. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts or degree audits to verify your qualifications for this grade level).

Minimum Qualification [GS-5]

In order to be eligible for this student appointment at the GS-5 grade-level, you must have completed 4 (four) academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a disiplin directly related to the position (four years of full-time academic study is defined as 120 semester hours, 180 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university) in a discipline/academic program related to the position. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts or degree audits to verify your qualifications for this grade level).

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
