Description Taft Community College was established on August 30, 1922 as part of the Taft Union High School District. The school title officially became Taft College on July 1, 1954 and in September of 1956 a separate campus opened in the current location at 29 Cougar court, adjacent to the high school The West Kern Community College District was later formed, and is a single-college-district under the guidance of a five-member Board of Trustees. With strong leadership, Taft College offers a robust academic program for its students, and is one of the finest small colleges around. Work Study Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of the Cougar and Ash Street courtyards;
- Take out trash cans on a weekly basis;
- Manage the dorm areas in front of each dorm room;
- Clean the laundry room of both dorms;
- Clean the parking lot and exterior of the forms;
- Clean the middle room of the Ash dorms;
- Sterilize door handles in the dorms daily;
- Handout cleaning supplies to dorm rooms;
- Assist with clerical work'
- Set-up and clean-up dorm events/activities.
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled and in good standing at Taft College.
- Must be registered for 6 units or more during work study program.
