Comments: This is an on-call position for day of availability.Purpose StatementThe job of Classroom Monitor is done for the purpose/s of providing supervision of students of all ages in classrooms, common areas of the school including the playground and lunchroom. Assist classroom teacher and paraeducators by providing student supervision and assistance to all students, including those who have severe physical and mental disabilities.Essential Functions:
- Facilitates the provision of immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs;
- Supervises activities among students for the purpose of providing direction in classroom and/or playground interactions and age-appropriate activities;
- Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g., classroom, common areas, playground, lunchroom, etc.) for the purpose of student safety and resolving conflict to provide a safe and positive learning environment;
- Provides support to students for the purpose of resolving minor conflicts;
- Reinforces expectations for student behavior in classrooms and common areas of the school;
- Reports observations and incidents relating to specific students (e.g. accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, safety conditions, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel;
- Responds to emergency situations (e.g., injured student, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Serves as a role model for students and staff by demonstrating positive attitude and effective work ethic for the purpose of displaying ethical and professional behaviors while working with students and staff.
- Uphold and apply classroom rules, regulations and polices for the purpose of supporting a positive and safe environment for all.

- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
