DEFINITION OF POSITION: Support the custodial team by covering absences at various locations throughout the district on an as needed basis.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Physical ability and stamina to do required work
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of custodial experience
- Experience and knowledge in custodial and maintenance practices, equipment, and materials
ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES:
- Clean and maintain facilities using appropriate and correct procedures, equipment and supplies/chemicals
- Use custodial power equipment and hand implements required for general cleaning and maintenance
- Operate equipment in a safe manner
- Perform custodial duties correctly
- Recognize and take action to address safety hazards
- Follow instructions, both written and oral
- Read and interpret written instructions, service orders, etc.
- Utilize proper procedures in the storage, use, and handling of chemicals and supplies required for custodial work
- Set up and take down furniture as required for special events
- Assist in maintaining school grounds: clean sidewalks and driveways, rake leaves, etc.
- Assist with the clearing of ice and snow from areas around buildings
- Maintain building security at all times
- Possess and practice strong interpersonal skills with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the organization (staff, parents, community members, other agencies, etc.)
- Be a positive team builder who works in a collaborative manner
- Meet multiple demands in pressure situations and maintain high levels of quality work
- Maintain confidentiality
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
- Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance, actions, decisions, and overall performance
- Work with minimal supervision and be flexible
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned

- Salary: $22.25/hour
