Position Type: Hall Monitors/Substitute Hall Monitor Date Posted: 8/1/2024 Location: Liberty High School / Freedom High School Are you looking for a position that will provide flexibility? Consider substituting in a support position at Bethlehem Area School District. Substitute hall monitors work on an on-call basis at either of the two high schools within the district, Freedom or Liberty. Interacting in an appropriate, professional, calm, and pleasant manner, substitute hall monitors assist in providing a safe and secure school environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors before, during, and after the school day. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following examples:
  • Deescalate students and intervene in physical altercations
  • Provide a visible presence and monitor student movement at locations throughout the day up to and including dismissal, and during large school events, including pep rallies and assemblies, as designated by administration
  • Adhere to the daily schedule created by administration (daily schedules are subject to change)
  • Monitor the front desk, ensure visitors sign in using the Visitor Management System
  • Assist administration in student searches
  • Provide escort process for students, school visitors, sensitive medical situations, and student hospital trips occurring while in school
