Primary Purpose:

Enable students to continue their education with minimal interruption in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

Qualifications:

Substitute Teachers must have one or more of the following qualifications:

* A current Texas teacher certification issued by the State Board for Educator Certification

* A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

* An associate's degree, plus three years of applicable work experience

* A high school diploma, plus at least five years of applicable work experience

Special Knowledge/Skills:

* Ability to work well with children, parents and school staff

* Ability to follow and present lesson plans

* Ability to communicate effectively
