At CESD, we are a team of creative and dynamic people who value one another as family and are connected by a shared belief in the success of our children.Job SummarySummary: The Substitute Paraprofessional (Intervention) provides supportive academic services to general education classroom students as directed by the Reading Specialist Teacher. Duties may include, but are not limited to: 1. Tutoring students in academic skill areas individually and in small groups 2. Preparing of materials and instructional settings 3. Providing support in management and discipline of students 4. Supervising students needing added time to complete classroom assignments, tests, and make-up work 5. Supervising assigned students Minimum Qualifications: 1. High School diploma 2. Ability to manage students in a positive and professional manner 3. Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn the school policies and procedures 4. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers 5. Ability to be flexible and reevaluate priorities as needs arise Desirable Qualifications: 1. Knowledge of academic skills 2. Knowledge of skills needed to motivate, organize and present academic materials 3. Knowledge of management and discipline techniques 4. College units, in services or aid certificate Other Requirements: 1. Proof of negative TB clearance 2.
