Substitute School Nurse - Daily - Braintree Schools : Job Details

Job description The substitute nurse is a registered nurse who assumes the duties of the school nurse in the event of the school nurse's absence. Reports To: The Director of School Nursing Services and the chief administrator of the school building. Must have a valid license (MA RN) to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts. BSN preferred. Must complete an orientation program based upon guidelines issued form the Department of Public Health and the Braintree Public Schools. Must be certified and maintain current certification in CPR for healthcare professionals through a recognized provider (i.e. American Heart Association) Recent pediatric or community health experience Computer experience with electronic medical records Must complete a CORI check Must complete fingerprinting Responsibilities Responsible to ensure the smooth operation of the Health Office and provide appropriate nursing care to students and staff including the administration of medications. Responsible for proper documentation of student and staff encounters. Responsible to respond to special situations which may occur in the school or health office and to collaborate with the school nursing director as circumstances arise.Payrate: $260/day
