TITLE: SUBSTITUTE TEACHERPay Rates for Substitute Teachers according to type of Kentucky certification
- Active Rank 1, 2, or 3 Teaching Certificate - $150 per day
- 5 Year Substitute Certificate with minimum of Bachelor's Degree $130 per day
- 10 year Substitute Certificate with minimum of Bachelor's Degree $130 per day
- Emergency Sub Certificate with minimum of Bachelor's Degree - $130 per day
- Emergency Sub Certificate with 64+ hours $110 per day
- Emergency Sub Certificate with high school diploma $100 per day
For long term substitute positions (more than 21 consecutive days) must hold one of the following to be eligible:

Reports to the building Principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.Reviews with the Principal, department head, or team leader all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school classroom to which he/she is assigned.Teaches the lesson as outlined or planned by the regular teacher.Consults, as appropriate, with the building Principal, department head, or team leader before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the classroom lesson plans.Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class, during lunch, recess periods and other breaks.Reports in writing on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal or the Superintendent.TERM OF SERVICE: Salary and workdays to be established by the Board.EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Substitute Teachers Handbook.
