Salary: $47,676.00 AnnuallyLocation : Tarboro Campus, NCJob Type: Full-timeJob Number: 00212Department: Student ServicesOpening Date: 01/14/2025Closing Date: 1/28/2025 11:59 PM Eastern***Grant-Funded Position***Serve as a chief advocate for students participating in P.A.A.M.E.S. on both the Rocky Mount and the Tarboro campuses. Work to establish a rapport with students to ensure first year success through personal contact, evaluations, and activities.Essential Job FunctionsAssist in the coordination of case management for the PAAMES (Providing African American Males the Edge to Succeed) students through personal contact and Starfish software.Maintain the student cases by monitoring the flags in the case management software and provide follow up with students. Serve as a liaison to link services provided by Edgecombe Community College and the community.Bridge and support student's participation in college activities leading to first year progression and improved retention.Build rapport and trust with students to support successful goal completion and monitor student progress toward goals.Coordinate events, webinars, and training for the students in areas of need.Evaluate the cohort's progression and monitor progress toward completion including mid-term grade and registration follow up.Assists students with setting goals and identifying, planning for, and overcoming potential obstacles to success.Assist students and faculty to problem solve issues related to progress towards academic goals, persistence and attendance.Coordinate student referrals to services to help overcome social and economic barriers.Support faculty in efforts to meet strategies for persistence and success.Develop and present lessons, workshops, etc. to assist students with skill and knowledge to navigate the college processes.Maintain the advising log or case management files to track contact hours, issues, and outcomes of advising sessions.Perform related duties as assigned.DisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
