Hachette Book Group's summer internship program offers individuals an opportunity to learn about the publishing industry and explore an area of interest. To learn more about the company, visit our career site: Program dates: June 2nd, 2025 - End date: August 7th, 2025Location: Three days per week on-site in our midtown NYC office. Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the program.Weekly schedule: 28 hours per week (M-Th), 9:00am-5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.Pay rate: $16.50/hourAs a Sales & Library & Academic Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.To enhance your work experience, we offer educational sessions featuring speakers from all departments of the company as well as networking and career development opportunities.The Sales & Library & Academic Marketing Intern will be responsible for:
  • Collaborating with the Sales/Library & Academic team on seasonal marketing plans, strategies, and campaigns
  • Update seasonal catalogs across publishing seasons
  • Assist with desk copy management and reporting
  • Create social media posts and newsletter content
  • Fulfill library and educator award requests
  • Assist in exam and desk copy request process
  • Refresh the library and academic website
  • Work alongside team to prepare for special events, conferences, and buzz sessions
  • Learn various reporting and administrative functions of HBG and industry systems including, but not limited to, NetGalley and Edelweiss
Job requirements:
  • Self motivated, hands-on, enthusiastic individual with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative and team environments
  • MS Office skills and proficiency; Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word
  • Strong interest in book publishing
  • Experience with Canva, WordPress, and social media
  • Proven ability to deliver work in a timely fashion
