Job Description :

Our client is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee the operations of commercial construction projects, from initial planning to successful completion. In this role, you will manage subcontractors, ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, and uphold the highest standards of workmanship and safety. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, including interior renovations and ground-up builds, while traveling to various locations across the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Collaborate with the Project Manager to review scopes of work, manage site logistics, and oversee all aspects of construction, including site preparation, subcontractor coordination, and timely execution of deliverables.
  • Subcontractor Management: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and trades, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to company standards.
  • Scheduling: Develop and manage project timelines, micro-schedules, and updates to ensure milestones are met. Address challenges proactively to keep the project on track.
  • Safety Leadership: Enforce compliance with safety guidelines (OSHA, HSEQ) and promote a safety-first culture across the team and job sites.
  • Quality Control: Regularly inspect work progress, ensure alignment with plans and specifications, and maintain communication with stakeholders on any required adjustments.
  • Reporting: Provide daily and weekly progress reports, track resources, and manage punch lists to ensure timely project closeouts.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with a commercial general contractor.
  • Proven track record managing multiple trades and subcontractors on-site.
  • Experience with interior renovations and commercial build-outs; retail and restaurant experience is a plus.
  • Strong ability to interpret and execute construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in construction software (ProCore, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to changing project needs and locations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
