The Position
Positions in this series supervise professional engineering associates, technical engineering staff, and/or engineering students; direct activities of assigned staff, organize personnel, equipment and materials, and delegate assignments; evaluate the performance of employees according to established policies and work performance standards; ensure accurate and timely completion of work assignments; and provide guidance and training.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located in the Traffic Information Division in Carson City. The position is responsible for managing and supervising the continuous and short-term count, special studies, and forecasting/modeling sections. Incumbents coordinate activities, goals, and objectives for all program areas; conduct analysis of traffic data; produce various reports and respond to requests for traffic information; coordinate and manage forecasting/modeling activities between divisions within the department, local government entities and other State and Federal agencies; and establishes and implements sectional procedures and guidelines.
