- Assist in providing direction to the Division internal corrosion program while ensuring consistent application of Plains internal corrosion control procedures.
- Provide technical expertise and problem-solving for complex internal corrosion control to include design review/standardization, site reviews, product quality assessments, analysis of corrosion coupons, liquid/solid sample analysis interpretation, maintenance pigging program modifications, and other general internal corrosion monitoring and treatment systems.
- Provide technical support in regard to corrosion for Operations and Engineering departments.
- Works closely with Integrity department to provide expertise of development of internal corrosion control procedures, standards and training.
- Assist in the review of inline inspection data.
- Develop scopes of work, direct and support complex projects such as facility integrity assessments, internal corrosion mitigation system design and monitoring, etc.
- Review and provide feedback on action plans resulting from periodic internal corrosion reviews and assist in assuring cost effective solutions congruent with company philosophy.
- Liaison with chemical vendors/contractors/suppliers to support field operations, company goals and ensure efficiency.
- Assist in development and training of field operations personnel through routine interactions, technical review and support.
- Provide subject matter expertise and assist in making informed decisions involving internal corrosion mitigation requirements such as chemical selection, internal coating specifications, corrosion resistant material selection, and internal corrosion monitoring technologies such as coupons, probes, liquid and solid sampling.
- Facilitate corrosion control failure analysis to determine root-cause working with third party metallurgist/laboratory personnel. Develop and drive the implementation of remediation plans.
- Evaluate industry best practices and provide specifications for new and improved corrosion control equipment, material and software.
- Perform other pipeline related tasks or projects as deemed necessary by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- 8 years minimum experience in corrosion related discipline in pipeline system operations. Emphasis on internal corrosion preferred.
- NACE General Corrosion, Pipeline Industry and/or Corrosion Management certifications preferred.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft office suite with strong emphasis on Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak read and write English.
- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and effectively as a team member.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be organized and proficient in record keeping.
- Must possess or obtain operator qualifications as deemed by Plains, safety programs, and meet minimum D.O.T. requirements.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry moderately heavy equipment up to 50 pounds, working, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing and walking distances in all types of terrain.
- Ability to work outdoors in open environment with extremes of heat and cold.
- Able to accommodate travel, overtime, extreme weather, and participate in “on-call” rotation as required.

Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
- Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
- Fluent speaking & writing English required.
