Supervisor House Registered Nurse - McLaren Health Care : Job Details

Position Summary: Supervises and coordinates the activities of nursing personnel within the hours of the assigned shift; maintains standards of patient care and manages unplanned events occurring during the shift toward a successful outcome; assists in and makes recommendations to Department Directors in the process of long term discipline, retention, termination, and performance evaluation; assumes responsibility for staff development during the assigned shift in accordance with the staff development plans of the Directors Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Assists in maintaining the Hospital's and Nursing Service's philosophy through effective nursing care. * Makes staffing adjustments to meet patient care needs. * Approves overtime. * Controls staff by taking appropriate and corrective action. * Immediately investigates patient care incidents. * Maintains effective communication with the staff and Nursing Administration. * Promotes interdepartmental relationships.
