By working collaboratively with partners and continually innovating, JVCHC strives to be a leader in providing essential healthcare for the underserved, ensuring everyone in our community has access to quality healthcare.Job Summary:The Patient Advocate is responsible for the scheduling of patient appointments through phone correspondence and directing callers to appropriate departments.Key Responsibilities:* Models, facilitates, and monitors patient/visitor (customer) service standards to assure excellence in interactions, facilities presentation, and administrative services.* In collaboration with Clinic Management, develops and implements standardized scheduling & check-in/out workflows and procedures for Advocate duties to:* Maintains the organization's Patient Experience Manual documenting workflows and best practices for scheduling and check-in/out; establishes portions unique to particular clinic/satellites as needed.* Facilitates education and training to Advocates regarding NextGen EHR workflows, insurance eligibility and limitations, and changes in scope of services in conjunction with Clinic Management.* Conducts and/or oversees one-on-one competency checks with Advocates while on the clinic floor to assess effectiveness of training and team performance; shares findings with Clinic Management.* Develops and implements an auditing systems to evaluate, test, document, and report compliance with check-in/out and scheduling workflows; shares data with Business Office and Clinic Management leadership to collaboratively implement corrective training/coaching to address negative trends.* Facilitates the system for collecting, analyzing and reporting patient satisfaction data; shares findings with Clinic Management and utilizes patient survey responses to identify training needs and implement education.* Assists with monitoring compliance with all Privacy and HIPAA regulations related to check-in/out, scheduling, or other patient services; supports compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws in addition to JVCHC policies.* Contributes to performance reviews and performance improvement plans based on findings of audits, competency checks, and observations.* Supports Clinic Management with Advocate candidate screening and selection via co-interviewing.Benefits Overview:* Medical and Prescription Drug Coverage: Three comprehensive plan options (Buy-up, Base, and High Deductible) through UnitedHealthcare's Choice Plus network, covering various deductibles and out-of-pocket limits.
