Plains has several openings for Tank and Facility Supervisors who will work out of field locations in Midland, San Antonio, Cushing, or Hattiesburg. Reporting to the Manager, Tanks & Facilities, you will function as a field operations liaison with local tank and facility managers, operations, and subcontractors to optimize project cost and realize efficiencies in fulfillment of meet business needs and requirements. In addition, you will be the primary point of contact with assigned local field operations and stakeholders for all tank inspection activities. Travel is expected and required (+/- 50%).

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and deploy strategies to proactively mitigate schedule delays and maintain project progress.
  • Oversee internal and external inspection of storage tanks to assess condition and ensure compliance to API 653 standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate with subcontractors and maintenance teams during inspection projects.
  • Assure detailed inspection reports that capture findings and recommendations for necessary repairs or maintenance are provided to impacted stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects meet regulatory requirements and are executed in adherence with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure data is effectively managed according to applicable regulations and Integrity Management Program requirements.
  • Own and manage adherence to quality control and safety programs.
  • Oversee QA/QC of inspection and testing, documentation, and compliance.
  • Oversee field execution of tank inspections including, but not limited to, OSS, ISI, and seal inspections as required and prescribed.
  • Inform direct leadership and local operations of events and project statuses.
  • Provide SME input to contractors and local operations.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to assure timely task execution. Oversee subcontractor progress, address issues promptly, and ensure project efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of field project management experience
  • Working knowledge of API 650, 653, DOT Part 195 regulations and/or experience with tank construction or maintenance.
  • API 653, and AMPP CIP level 1 certifications preferred.
  • Working knowledge of procedures for tank repairs such as tank cleaning, welding, material selection, and application or capable of quickly learning procedures identified in API standards and practices relating to aboveground storage tanks.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and industry applications.
  • Previous supervisory experience, leading and engaging team members, considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations (+/- 50%).
  • Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks.
  • Compliance with the company's Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing.
  • Valid state driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers. #Plains
