Duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES Triage patients according to Clinic Policies. Coordination of the Dispensary services. Supervisory role in oversight and evaluation of clinical employees, including Medical Assistants, LVN's, Clinic RN, Phlebotomy, Front Office, Health Information and Dispensary Staff. Assure the key aspects of clinic functions are taken care of including: Dispensary, Purchasing and Inventory, Medical Reception and Patient Scheduling, Patient Registration and Intake, Health Information Management, and Patient Referral process to outside providers. Working together with the Clinic Coordinator, assures the clinic is adequately staffed daily including Nursing personnel, Dispensary personnel, Providers, Back Office, and Front Office personnel. Annual review and update of Policies and Procedures including, Front Office Policies and Procedures, Nursing Policies and Procedures, Medical Policies and Procedures, Laboratory Policies and Procedures, Infection Control and Safety Policies and Procedures. Lead in compliance of Infectious and communicable disease control and reporting, including compliance with Occupational safety and Health Administration requirements. Provide or arrange training for Medical Department Staff. Annual training shall include, but not be limited to; Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogens, Workplace Safety, CPR, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Child Abuse and Domestic Violence, and Fire and Disaster training. Assure Providers and licensed personnel have adequate coverage and opportunity to attend required CME training to comply with their licensing requirements. Prepare agendas and lead Quality Improvement Projects (QIP). Assure QIP, Infection Control and Safety, Medical and Provider meetings are held per set schedule. Lead in securing adequate licensed back-office coverage, including telephone advice and triage per Acute Care Guidelines, rooming of patients and dispensing of medications and injections. Work together with Diabetes Program Coordinator to ensure adequate education and periodic screening of patients with diabetes and hypertension. Perform other duties as necessary to assist the Medical Department to maintain a high level of quality care for the community.
Qualifications:Minimum Requirements 1. Active Registered Nursing License, BSN preferred. 2. Managerial/supervisory experience 3. Current CPR Certificate 4. Current ALS Certificate desirable 5. Previous ambulatory clinical care experience desirable 6. Previous emergency room and patient triage experience desirable 7. Excellent organizational skills in handling multiple tasks 8. Competence with word processing 9. Must be able to lift up to twenty pounds and to assist patients to exam tables using proper body mechanics. 10. Displays a professional attitude. 11. Agreement to comply with the Round Valley Indian Health Center Employee Policies 12. Ability to attend out of town Employee Development Trainings 13. In good Physical and emotional health to practice in a busy clinical environment.
