Applications will be reviewed and referred at regular intervals every two weeks starting on 11/22/2024 .Total-Rewards-of-an-Allied-Health-VA-Career-Brochure.pdfHealthcare Engineer: vacareers.va.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/Total-Rewards-of-a-General-Engineer-Career-Flyer.pdfThis position serves as the Supervisory Healthcare Engineer (Deputy) for the Engineering Service as the full alter ego of the Chief with responsibility for the professional Engineering programs such as Maintenance and Repair, Utility Plant Operations, Energy Management and Conservation Program, Safety, Fire Prevention, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Preparedness, Green Environmental Management, Vehicle Fleet, Grounds, Capital Planning, and Construction Project Management section at a multi-faceted and affiliated VA Medical Center, including outlying Community Based Outpatient Clinics.Some of the duties include but are not limited to;Develops and manages a complex, professional, and highly technical program.Acts as staff professional consultant and advisor on engineering and environmental matters to top management, high level medical and administrative staff along with VISN management.Responsible for the following programs: budget, projects, cost estimates, operational programs, and preventive maintenance.Responsible for personnel issues such as performance appraisals and discipline.Ensures all assignments are completed in accordance with VA Manuals Medical Center policies and safe practice.Participates in formulating changes in staffing patterns and organization structure within the service.Participates in the selection of applicants for vacant positions and candidates for promotion. Titles may vary from educational institutions and change over time; OREvidence of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination with a bachelor's degree.
