WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: The Packaging Representee leads all packaging development and implementation of new packaging at New Model Startup for both supplier and internal. He / She communicates with internal and external customers to ensure all parties are informed of future new models and built out packaging requirements are understood for supplier and internal. Maintaining all packaging documentation to ensure upkeep and monitoring of pack systems is done so accurately to help eliminate lost pack and extra cost.
  • Overall Packaging Project Management from Concept to end of model life.
  • New model supplier/internal packaging planning and development.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets for new model schedules and packaging development.
  • Create and maintain packaging evaluation / expectation documents.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to support packaging development.
  • Complete software system set-ups for all customer packaging.
  • Work with outside vendors to negotiate cost effective pricing while maintaining packaging quality.
  • Monitor and maintain packaging systems using internal and external software systems.
  • Create and monitor Expense PO's using SAP.
  • Responding to and troubleshoot packaging supplier/internal complaints.
  • Understanding and maintaining packaging inventories to avoid line disruption.
  • Monitor and maintain offsite warehouse supplier/internal packaging inventories.

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:
  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain / business or related field. (equivalent experienced accepted).
  • Honda environment or equivalent auto industry experience required.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office software.
  • Price planning and negotiation experience.
  • Fluent in multiple communication platforms.
  • Managing and maintaining multiple software applications.
  • Operating Forklift or equivalent machinery.
  • Established packaging vendor network (preferred).
  • Base Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Standing:
  • Number of Hours at a Time: 30 min
  • Total Hours Per Day: 1-2

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General Office Environment: 6 hours per day
  • Manufacturing Environment: 2 hours per day
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required to perform essential functions at remote locations or receive training.
  • Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer deadlines and requirements.
HAZARDS:
  • While performing the job the position is frequently exposed to moving or mechanical parts.
  • Moderate noise levels with specific areas required to wear hearing protection.
  • PPE: Safety shoes, Cut resistant gloves, safety glasses.
