The Supplier Quality Engineer will lead cross-functional teams to execute the Advanced Supplier Readiness process for assigned commodities, supporting projects related to capacity increases, cost reduction, supplier changes, and new product/process qualifications. Develop inspection methods, including plans and gaging techniques, to monitor critical characteristics, and communicate these internally and with suppliers. Ensure alignment by sharing qualification inspection plans with regional teams.
- Apply advanced quality planning tools to qualify new suppliers and products, collaborating with development, manufacturing, product, and process engineering teams using FMEA. Work with global supply chain and engineering to ensure specifications are clearly defined and communicated to suppliers. Independently drive suppliers to identify root causes of non-conformances and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Globally coordinate with cross-functional teams to monitor supplier performance, conducting audits, and participating in business reviews. Lead supplier development initiatives, focusing on failure mode analysis, process monitoring, and SPC methods. Manage supplier change requests, driving approval and qualification through the ASR process.
- Lead breakthrough process improvements using advanced process control techniques, earning peer respect through leadership in critical improvement initiatives. Facilitate training on quality tools like FMEA, SPC, DMAIC, and MSA, while supporting the development of performance metrics and new methodologies. Encourage innovative thinking, challenge conventional methods, and act as a role model for process improvement within the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in related quality systems processes, including ISO Quality Systems and use of Advance Quality Planning tools.
- Master's or PhD degree in a technical discipline with minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in related quality systems processes, including ISO Quality Systems and use of Advance Quality Planning tools.
- ASQ Certifications preferred (CMQ/OE, CMBB, CQA, CQE, CQI).
- Third Party Certification as ISO Internal Auditor preferred.
