About the Role - We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer with a strong background in IATF 16949 audit processes, visual inspections, corrective action planning, and root cause analysis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in ensuring product quality, compliance with automotive standards, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- IATF 16949 Audits: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards, identifying gaps and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Visual Inspections: Perform detailed visual inspections of incoming parts and components to ensure they meet quality specifications and standards.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into quality issues and defects, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Corrective Action Plans: Develop, implement, and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality concerns and drive process improvements.
- Supplier Quality Management: Work closely with suppliers to ensure that parts and materials meet customer and regulatory requirements, while supporting supplier audits and quality assessments.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of audits, inspections, and corrective actions. Prepare regular quality reports for management and stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives in quality processes and product manufacturing to enhance efficiency and product reliability.
- Collaboration & Training: Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues. Provide training and support to team members on quality standards, tools, and processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Required Skills
- IATF 16949 Auditor Certification: Certified Internal Auditor for IATF 16949 or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of quality tools and techniques, including 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, and root cause analysis.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues through systematic problem-solving methodologies.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in inspections, audits, and reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management software (e.g., Minitab, SAP).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with sequencing operations or supply chain management in the automotive industry.
- Six Sigma or Lean certifications (Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Experience working in a Tier 1 automotive supplier environment.
