General Summary:
This position provides strategic and tactical guidance to Quality Teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures team conformance to policies and procedures.Interacts with engineering, supply chain management and manufacturing production to drive quality initiatives and best practices to suppliers.Assesses inspection requirements and assigns inspection projects and tasks to inspection personnel.Oversees team management of corrective actions, quality improvement plan, and supplier visits.Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
BA/BS degree in a technical field or other related field of study preferredQuality Certification desirable, such as CQM, CQE or related5+ years' experience in technical fieldPrevious verifiable experience as DAR/DMIR/ODAR/ODA-Unit Member in good standingIn-depth knowledge of FAA 14CFR Part 21 required preferredIn-depth understanding of AS9100 frameworkKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Manage area resources/OTOversee Corrective ActionsEffective communication of quality issues (external and cross-functional)Oversee complianceProvide decisions to Supplier Quality Assurance team for priority and resourcesManage supplier corrective actions/containmentEnforce quality system requirements (Supplier Requirements Manual)Administration tasks for direct reports such as PPA, Time cards, etcHigher level business decisions balancing risks and costs (cosmetics, conditional release, life limited parts)Physical Requirements:
Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 15 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
