Join us at Torus and be part of an exciting team that is transforming the energy landscape.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Director to lead sourcing, supplier development, and procurement efforts within our renewable energy storage division. This role is crucial in supporting the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation by developing a robust supply chain for renewable energy storage solutions, including batteries, power management systems, and related components. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep technical knowledge of energy storage systems and supply chain best practices to drive cost efficiencies, ensure quality, and secure strategic partnerships with suppliers globally.Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify, qualify, and engage suppliers for energy storage components, materials, and services.
- Lead contract negotiations, establish supply agreements, and manage supplier relationships to ensure long-term partnerships and continuity of supply.
- Collaborate with engineering, product development, and quality assurance teams to understand technical requirements and align sourcing strategies.
- Conduct supplier audits, monitor performance, and work with suppliers to ensure quality standards, on-time delivery, and sustainability compliance.
- Evaluate and mitigate supply chain risks, including conducting cost analyses and identifying alternative suppliers or materials when necessary.
- Analyze market trends, supply and demand, and commodity pricing to inform sourcing strategies and proactively manage cost fluctuations.
- Work closely with logistics and warehousing teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute supply chain projects, improve procurement processes, and support new product introductions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies, focusing on environmental and ethical sourcing practices.
- Support sustainability initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint across the supply chain.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., APICS, CPSM) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, or procurement, ideally within the renewable energy or energy storage industry.
- Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, power management systems and their components.
- Proven track record of managing complex supplier relationships, negotiations, and contract management.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to evaluate technical specifications and cost drivers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain management software; experience with NetSuite required.
- Strong knowledge of global sourcing practices and supply chain regulations, including environmental and sustainability standards.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and project management skills.Preferred Experience
- Experience in renewable energy storage, clean technology, or adjacent industries.
- Knowledge of battery supply chains and associated challenges (e.g., raw material sourcing, lifecycle management).
