For more information, visit www.owenscorning.com.BRIEF DESCRIPTION:Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Scheduling and Inventory Control Manager will be accountable to deliver on customer service levels with inventory levels at the lowest possible total cost. Directs, develops, and manages the production planning and scheduling, inventory control, materials planning, purchasing, and warehousing.RESPONSIBILITIES:•Responsible for the overall capacity and material planning, purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, scheduling activities to maximize efficiency, customer service, and delivery.•Leads production and inventory control team in attaining key metrics including on-time delivery performance, schedule adherence, working capital, and inventory health•Implements best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, material control, and scheduling.•Understands plant's key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.•Helps identify 'vital signs' for the material and information flow through the entire value stream and utilizes visual controls to monitor, support, and improve processes based on them.•Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.•Work with central procurement and suppliers to develop and implement supply strategies to ensure correct delivery, quality, and supply of product from the supplier.•Responsible for a formalized inventory cycle count control system to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.•Develop and maintain close working relationships with other departments to ensure cohesiveness within the plant.•Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining, and aligning company policies with health and safety regulations.•Measures and evaluates direct reporting employee performance according to company standards for quality and productivity. Provides accurate, meaningful, and timely reviews.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:•Analytical, problem solving, project management, facilitation, and decision-making skills are essential.•Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate others, resolve conflict, encourage teamwork, and manage employee performance.•Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.•Expertise in lean material and information flow methodologies•Strong knowledge of materials and inventory control in manufacturing environments including various levels of planning.•Experience with Vendor Managed Inventory systems and setup•Self-starter, able to work with or lead cross-functional teams.•Must be able to work under minimal direct supervision and be willing to take initiative to resolve problems and to help revise and upgrade processes.•Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside of the organization.•Must possess a high degree of professionalism, adaptability and strong customer service skills including a high level of integrity.EDUCATION:•Position requires a bachelor's degree.•Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus.EXPERIENCE:•5-10 years of progressive manufacturing management experience with emphasis in Production Scheduling, Inventory, Purchasing and Warehouse management.•Experience managing a team of hourly and salaried employees.•Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills are required.#LI-JO2We Help People Walk Through WallsWe respect the privacy of candidates for employment.
